Frigidaire washers display error codes in the E## format (E10, E24, E40…) on the LED or LCD control panel. On Affinity models the code appears as a scrolling two-character display; on newer Gallery models with full LCD panels it's shown alongside a brief description. Here's what each code actually means.
The washer isn't filling with water, or isn't detecting an adequate water level. E11 means the machine started filling but didn't reach the target level within the timeout.
The sump didn't empty inside its allotted time.
The drain pump motor has failed electrically.
The control board is detecting an issue with the door switch circuit.
The door lock assembly has failed, or the circuit has a fault.
Communication between the motor control board and the main control board has failed.
On top-loading models, the washer lid is open or the lid lock has failed.
The washer is out of balance.
The washer is not level on the floor.
Excessive suds detected in the washer.
Usually caused by excessive suds in the washer. Run a rinse cycle to clear the foam, then use less HE detergent on the next load. If Sud repeats frequently, your detergent dosing may be too high — we can advise based on your model.

Frigidaire's front-load platforms demand specialist knowledge of their individual fault patterns. Here's what we know inside and out.
The Affinity is Frigidaire's oldest front-load platform, and by now the one whose faults are most often mechanical. Common issues include bearing wear, drain pump failures, and door lock assembly problems. We know these machines inside and out.
The Gallery GCRG/GCRE machines deal with newer controls and more diagnostic reporting. These models often display full LCD error descriptions. We diagnose Gallery-specific control board and motor communication issues — including E52 and IQ-Touch panel faults.
WashSense automatically adjusts wash parameters based on load size and fabric type — ensuring clothes get clean with care. We diagnose and recalibrate WashSense sensors and the load-detection circuit.
Frigidaire's TimeWise technology ensures wash time equals dry time, so you don't wait around for clothes to dry. When this system malfunctions, we diagnose the sensor and control board issues behind it.
Frigidaire's final rinse uses fresh water to ensure whiter whites and reduce allergens. We service the water inlet system, pressure switch and rinse cycle components that drive ART.
Frigidaire's vibration control technology keeps even oversized loads balanced for smooth, quiet operation. We repair suspension systems, shock absorbers, leveling issues and out-of-balance (E4/E5) faults.
An additional rinse cycle using advanced rinse technology to effectively reduce detergents and additives. We diagnose rinse cycle faults and water inlet issues behind incomplete rinses.
iWash determines the amount of water needed to effectively wash the clothes, using less water than some other front-load models. We diagnose water level sensor and control board issues affecting iWash.

Standing water after the cycle. The most common cause is a clogged drain-pump filter or coin trap. We clean the filter, check the drain hose and replace the pump if needed.
Learn moreWater on the laundry floor. Common causes include a loose water supply hose connection, a misaligned drain filter or a worn door seal. We find the source and fix it fast.
Learn moreClothes coming out soaked. Often caused by an unbalanced load or a faulty lid switch. We diagnose faulty lid switches, broken drive belts and motor coupling issues.
Learn moreBanging, grinding or squealing during the spin. Common causes include worn drum bearings (a known Frigidaire issue), unbalanced loads, or worn shock absorbers. A drum that rumbles on spin or shows play at the rim is a bearing and tub-seal question.
Learn moreNo power at all. We check the power supply, control board and door lock mechanism.
Learn moreMusty odours. We clean and replace mouldy door gaskets and address drainage issues causing bacteria buildup.
Learn moreThe door lock assembly might be defective. We inspect the door lock for damage and check the wire harness for proper power and signals.
Learn moreA cycle stalling at drain, a spin that never reaches speed, or a door that won't unlock. We diagnose the drain pump, filter, door lock assembly, pressure switch and motor control in that order.
Learn moreWasher waiting for water and refusing to start? We clean the inlet valve screens, check the hoses and repair the solenoid.
Learn moreWe service every Frigidaire washer family sold in the region — from the classic Affinity to the newest Gallery controls.

Because Frigidaire machines have specific fault patterns — bearing wear on Affinity, E21 drain blockage on Gallery, control board failures on FFFW5000. We know each of these inside out.
No waiting rooms, no hauling your machine across town, no surprise invoices.

Error E24 means the drain pump motor has failed electrically — the pump circuit is either open or shorted. Unlike E21 (a mechanical blockage), E24 is an electrical fault. If E21 preceded E24, the pump likely burned out from running against a blockage.
E10/E11 means the washer isn't filling with water or isn't detecting the correct water level. Common causes: water supply valves not fully open, kinked inlet hoses, clogged inlet valve screens, or a failed water inlet valve solenoid. E11 specifically means the machine started filling but didn't reach the target level within the timeout.
Error E21 means the sump didn't empty inside its allotted time. In about 80% of cases this is a clogged drain-pump filter or coin trap — not a dead pump. Clean the lower-left filter first before assuming the pump needs replacing. See all Frigidaire error codes.
E40 means the control board is detecting an issue with the door switch circuit — the door may not be properly closed and latched. E41 means the door lock assembly itself has failed or the circuit has a fault. Both require inspection of the door latch, hinges and wiring harness.
Error E52 means communication between the motor control board and the main control board has failed. Often caused by a faulty wiring harness or a failing motor control module.
Yes. Bearing wear is one of the most common faults on the Affinity platform. A drum that rumbles on spin or shows play at the rim is a bearing and tub-seal question. We replace the bearings and seals as a set to prevent repeat failure.
